Sweet Stack is an odd but fun inspired dessert bar in Atlanta. If there is one thing they know how to do, it is being innovative with their delicious ice cream! Let’s get into it:
As soon as I arrived at sweet stack, I noticed the youthful environment which meant the flavors would probably take me on an adventure. They immediately saw me grazing the menu and offered a donut sandwich. My crazy self entertained the idea..”yes! let me go ahead and get that”. I noticed they had cookie sandwiches also along with cones and cups. The customer service was so helpful, because I had no clue what the heck to throw on this donut ice cream sandwich LOL. You will find flavors such as Amber Rose, Black Panther, cereal milk, and many more. Also, THEY HAVE VEGAN OPTIONS. That’s always a plus.
Back to my freaky order, I got the donut sandwich with cookie monster ice cream along with a side scoop of Black Panther. They cooled the donut, so that it was more firm to hold the ice cream in place. The cookie monster flavor consisted of blue icing, vanilla ice cream, and cookie dough & Oeros. That first bite sold me that I was not that crazy, because it was delicious. The donut was not overwhelming the flavor of the ice cream at all. The ice cream was actually amazing! The Black Panther consisted of vanilla ice cream, hints of coconut, and charcoal. STRANGE COMBO I KNOW. However, it was extremely well put together. The balance of the flavors worked perfectly. The coconut was not overpowering at all. It was sweet with a touch of freshness! The charcoal was more so to add color to the ice cream. And before you all comment on having charcoal in ice cream, I must ask..
CamiCakes is owned by a Black woman, Andrea Hall, and has 6 locations open. From Easy Bake Over to avid baker, Andrea Hall has really put her foot into cupcakes! Let’s get into it:
At CamiCake Cupcakes, you will find black women, soft pink colors, and sweet aromas from all of their goodies. I had NO clue what I wanted to order, because they have tons of tasty sounding options. You will find cupcakes such as salted caramel, cookie butter, red berry, and many more! I just wouldn’t be me if I didn’t order a few to eat. I ordered cookies n cream, cookie butter, lemon drop, and strawberries n cream. I know fat kids love cake, but my ass loves cupcakes too!
The cookies n cream was everything I dreamt it would be. The Oreo sitting in the fluffy icing was it for me. Every bite was great! The lemon drop gave me pound cake vibes with lemon icing. The cake was moist and the perfect compliment to the light icing. The cookie butter one deserves endless praise. From the cookie on top the sweet cake, everything worked together. This satisfied all of my sweet tooth tastebuds. Lastly, the strawberries n cream gave me a bit of freshness! The contrast of flavors was amazing! After eating these, I was so pleased that I had to dance..
Vegan Dream Doughnuts sits right by Morehouse University presenting vegan treats to the community. The owner says “it’s a good thing I take pictures, because they last longer than these doughnuts”. I loved these all natural doughnuts. Let’s get into it:
Vegan Dream Doughnuts easily presents one of the most creative menus I have come across. From orange raspberry doughnuts to sea moss infused drinks to blueberry cinnamon rolls. I wanted to order all of these items! This is why you shouldn’t date a pastry chef.. because he’ll dessert you. Wow that was corny, but I know you chuckled.
Anyways, I want to dive into these flavors. Everything was fresh, and the inclusion of fruit into the pastries was perfect. I had a french vanilla donut with almond crisps to start out. The vanilla mixed with the coconut flour was a match made in heaven. It was subtle but very pleasing! Not to mention, the texture reminded me of a light cake doughnut. Next up, I bodied the strawberry and banana donut. This combination is undefeated and to bake this into a donut almost made me cry. Every bite resembled a smoothie with a dash of cheat day. Also, I had lemon & raspberry donut holes. I never would have guessed that flavor profile would be so good with a donut, but it blew my mind. I had to take a deep breath before tapping into this strawberry & blueberry cinnamon roll. As soon I took a bite into, I knew I was not going to be able to stop myself from eating all of it. The cinnamon roll itself was phenomenal, but the fruit element made this an unforgettable dessert. My mom asked me for a bite, and I had to look at her like… #ItsAllLoveButNo
